For the creations of our solid wood furniture, in Prestige we have found the greatest inspiration in Veneto, our homeland. The rich history, inspiring art and architecture of our region have been reinterpreted and adapted to shape the collections of the Company. We are fascinated by the beauty of our land, first of all by Vicenza, that in 1994 became a UNESCO city, thanks to its artistic heritage.
Founded in the ninth century from the Greek-Byzantine territories as the Republic of Venice (the “Repubblica Veneta”), this Italian region sees in the Gothic era its first artistic expression with the Scrovegni family commissioning to the Tuscan Giotto, approximately in 1302, the frescoing of its family chapel in Padua.
That event was followed by the development of Gothic art in the whole Veneto, especially for the construction of churches and cathedrals.
After this period, Donatello paves the way for the Venetian Renaissance, one of the most important facets of the Italian Renaissance.
He was followed by major artists such as Giorgione, who uses color patches to transmit the image of the event without a first preparatory drawing, as in his famous work “The Tempest” (early 1500).
Another great exponent of the Venetian painting, who brought forward this innovative use of color, is Titian of Belluno, author of works such as “The Assumption of the Vergin”.
The Venetian Art inspired the creation of the furnishings of Bassano, not only through the valuable insights in painting, but also through architecture thanks to the works of Palladio. He recovered the canons of Roman buildings and gave form to the Venetian villas, now worldwide famous, such as: Villa Emo, Barbaro, Foscari and La Rotonda (Villa Almerico Capra).
Nearly two centuries after Palladio, it will be Canova to occupy a significant position in the Venetian architecture and sculpture, with the design and construction of the Temple of Possagno and his neoclassical sculptures of which the plasters are still kept in his birthplace, now gipsoteca.

The attention to the smallest details that the great artists of the past devoted to their works, is today one of the pillars of Prestige corporate philosophy.
The Prestige classic luxury furniture are created to put an emphasis on the environments and to emotion, just like the works of the great Venetian artists: the curves and movements of the Canova neoclassic decorations find themselves in the details of the kitchen “Regina”, while the grooves of the columns of the bespoke wooden wardrobes echo the columns of the Temple of Possagno, and finally the pure lines of the “Milano” dressing room is a tribute to the purity and elegance of Palladian buildings.
Once again, in Prestige we show that our roots are a solid foundation on which to base the present and the future: we wink to the contemporary, without losing class and elegance.
